Introduction to the Hypnotik Family

Hello! Welcome to our first blog post. I thought it would be appropriate to introduce who we are and what we do.

My name is Nick Henson. I'm the owner of both Hypnotik Computers & Repair and Hypnotik MSP.

Hypnotik with a "k" probably looks like a spelling error, but I assure you it's not. It started with my favorite song, Hypnotik by Keys N Krates. The music video is mesmerizing, highly detailed, and brings a sense of wonder. The gold and Egyptian theme call out to the prestige of that era. The Hypnotik Family wants to be that same kind of mesmerizing, highly detailed, wonder. We want clients to come to us because our services are as hypnotic as that video's meaning.

It's been about a month since I started these businesses and I've learned a tremendous amount. From establishing a big enough workspace to understanding how to network efficiently, and most important of all, keeping positivity no matter where I am.

WHERE IT STARTED

Hypnotik Computers & Repair started with a love for building computers. From my very first build, I wanted it to be complex and bold. A suitcase PC. I no longer have pictures of that project since it was over 10 years ago, but I always thought about it. That love for building only grew as I was able to purchase other amazing boards, usually halo boards. The Maximus Impact VIII was a favorite of mine and the first motherboard I ever purchased. It was the board I used for the suitcase idea before moving it into a more open frame build.

As time went on I started making personal projects for myself. Never wanting to really show them off, just wanting that sense of self accomplishment in building computers.

FROM HOBBY TO CAREER

Once I started going to school at Colorado Technical University, I realized I wanted to do more with computers. I cared about all aspects of computing: hardware, machine code, networking, and software life cycles. During my first couple years at CTU, I landed a contractor job with an MSP company in Colorado Springs. That's where the idea of having my own IT support company started to take shape.

That MSP taught me a tremendous amount. From simple code entry and command line work to implementing a full organizational phishing test, installing routers and routing fiber, and managing entire client tenants. I learned what good IT support looks like, but I also saw what it shouldn't look like. Sometimes customers would get ignored. Sometimes things wouldn't be planned out well enough, and it would bring the company's integrity into question.

That's where Hypnotik Computers & Repair was actually written out as a dream idea. Combine my love for computer building with my passion to help others with their IT needs. Add in my ability to troubleshoot and repair components thanks to years of experimenting with soldering techniques and building (and breaking) my own machines. I felt Hypnotik Computers & Repair could truly do good in helping people in my community and around the nation.

WHY MOBILE

Colorado Springs needs more mobile repair, so I offer that service. Being able to go to someone instead of them having to pack up their desktop or device and bring it to a store. I come to them. Most problems can usually be handled in person. If something needs a more personal touch, I bring it back to the office.

TWO BRANDS, ONE MISSION

Hypnotik Computers & Repair was originally going to be a combination of MSP services, custom computer building, and device repair all under one roof. I realized the need to separate these services, and Hypnotik MSP was born as a result.

The goal of Hypnotik MSP is to bring lower cost IT services to newer and smaller businesses. Of course we can help the big guys, but the big guys already have established IT teams. Helping new businesses and new dreamers is where we want to be. Not just hypnotic words. Truly hypnotic services
